Cadent Gas Volunteering Days
After previously partnering with Cadent Gas, they generously sent more employees to volunteer with us over two days, as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility to ‘make a positive impact’.
A spokesperson for Cadent said “Our colleagues are passionate about helping their local communities to thrive through volunteering their time and skills”.
Their volunteer scheme gives Cadent employees an allowance of 2 volunteer days each year and we are so grateful they chose us again. It’s with volunteer groups like these that we can create such a positive change towards our projects.
We give thanks to their finance team and audit & risk team for their energy and enthusiasm on both volunteering days and helping with the progression of a number of our project sites.
Cadent Finance Team
Cadent’s finance team joined us in our gardens at Stratford-Upon Avon hospital. After a tour of the vicinity, we began to work through our checklist of tasks and the hard-working group completed many much-needed tasks including:
Strimming, weeding and mowing the kitchen garden
Planting up a self-watering planter at the entrance of the kitchen garden
Tidying up our nursery area, potting up plants and making it accessible for watering
Transforming our polytunnel into an education space for our Green Therapy group to learn about sustainability and grow plants
Kick starting the creation of a new garden area on Birmingham Road using plants grown in our plant nursery
Cadent Audit & Risk Team
Members of Cadent’s audit and risk department joined us at our nature reserve to help us at our new garden area and our off-grid picket post. We appreciate the efforts of the group as they completed many tasks like:
Painting the garden fence
Painting the inside of the picket post
Repotting our ivy plants
Planting spring bulbs
Constructing our new garden benches
Installing guttering on our garden shed and attaching water butts for rainwater harvesting
